Hi, there! I’m an incoming Assistant Professor at the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University Indianapolis in Fall 2026. Before this, I was an AI-EDGE postdoctoral researcher at The Ohio State University (OSU), co-supervised by Yingbin Liang and Ness B. Shroff. I obtained my Ph.D. in the Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 2023, advised by Venugopal V. Veeravalli.
I am actively recruiting highly motivated students with backgrounds in CS, statistics, math, and signal processing. If you are interested, please send me your CV/resume with a brief introduction.
My research focuses on generative models and statistical inference, aiming to understand the mathematical foundations of existing algorithms and to design new methods that are both theoretically sound and practically effective. Some of my recent interests include:
- Foundations of Diffusion Models, especially Discrete and Masked Diffusion Models
- Controlled Sampling, such as Fine-tuning and Inference-time Methods
- Safe and Trustworthy Generative AI in Medicine and Healthcare
